Haha! Pawnage. Don't agree with your politics but that's some funny shite right there.
As for the poll, it's a shame it didn't include the option "No, because it's really tragic looking"

Went to Catalina Island in California for the 4th of July. The guy was nice enough to let me dock for free so I let him a beer :D (looks like wine but it isn't) :o

Uh, I don't know if this has been asked before, but, about edesignuk's job at dealing with threads that get off track... What if it's edesignuk himself who gets it off track? What happens then?
Please don't hurt me! I'm scared of the mods. I mean no disrespect! It's just a question, I swear! I wasn't implying anything!
Then I imagine I get a swift kick up the butt, and land back on my previously titled demi-god ass before I know it!
...I'll be good...:D

Can anyone recommend an app that does with video what iPhoto does with photos? It should have a library of thumbnails, folders, search, the ability to display most video types, not just limited to QuickTime, ability to drag and drop files which create aliases, etc.
Basically iPhoto for videos. Oh yeah, and free (my guess is it ain't gonna happen for free).
Thanks!
It's not what you are looking for exactly but MPlayer (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/16623) has a playlist/library ability. Also it will play just about any format. Oh and yes it's free.

Why not sell daily copies of the FT if they don’t want to sell subscriptions through Apple. Does Apple allow this?
That would make the App the equivalent of the news stand with the additional advantage of immediate availability of to-day’s edition to-day wherever the reader is in the world. The price could be very competitive with a news stand price and the FT would not have any info on this reader in any case.

The white model looks far worse than the black model. Apple should have used the 3G design anyway, it was way better than the iPhone 4's design...
This.
You can at least carry a 3G/3GS around without worrying that the front and back of the phone will shatter from the slightest drop or bump.

Well in that case, there's a clear line that a non-black person doesn't say that to a black person. It's not like the referee had an "I'm Gay" sticker on his shirt.
I mean, what about saying..."omg...that is sooo gay" when describing a non-cool object or situation. Is that "gay bashing" too? I mean, this is getting to such a point where you can say anything that "might" offend some overlysensitive person...becomes a racist, sexual harrassment, hate, etc offense. I mean, some things are understood to be coloquial amoung pop culture.
I hear what you are saying, and I certainly didn't mean to imply that I'm not guilty of the same things. I've been using "gay" as a negative adjective for 30 years, like a lot of other people. But every time I do it, I think of what my very close gay friends would say about me using it that way. Whether they specifically would be offended by it is one thing, but the point is that it just isn't right to commandeer that word and use it as an insult or detractor when there really is no reason that it should be.
In this case, maybe you, me, and all of us need to work on changing pop culture and getting it out of a grade-school mentality. As long as Kobe was fined because he did a piss-poor job of acting professionally and as a role model rather than just "hurting the ref's feelings," that's a start.

Too bad it is unable to add even one, when the poster does not.

Can any other posters shill the Microsoft party line more? "They" said the Sony Playstation2 was "too hard" to program for versus programming for the Microsoft Xbox. Which platform won again? Which platform had the most third-party support? That's right, the "too hard to program for" Playstation2. The reason why there are extra features on the current HD-DVD titles has to do with the fact that they are using VC-1 and the Blu-Ray titles are using the space-hungry MPEG2 codec currently. There's no room right now on Blu-Ray releases for the "extras" you are bringing up. It has nothing to do with "how hard" it is to program BD-J.
Look... honestly the only "winner" I want in this format war is the disc that has the best high definition image and sound, has the most actual (good) movies available, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
I thought, on paper, Blu-ray had the most compelling feature set of the two discs. I pre-ordered a Sony BD deck. That got pushed way back. (I ended up cancelling it. I'll buy it when it comes out... I don't expect shortages.) In the interim, I bought an HD DVD deck. I can afford it and I have a decent sized Hi-def LCD rear projection set that is ISF calibrated that begs for HD content. I love watching stuff in HD. I can't stand watching stuff in SD. My HD DVR is filled to the brim.
HD DVD right now has 5gb more capacity. The VC-1 encoded discs look amazing. The special features are cool on a couple of the discs. The (mandatory) higher bit-rate sound formats sound better.
If Blu-ray (software and hardware) can do it better, then I welcome it. Get those damn 50gb discs out. Start using better codecs now! Start putting innovative features using BD-J. Get some good movies out there. And get some GOOD decks out there. THEN I will believe it. Only then will I buy it. Until then...in my opinion, there is nothing on the BD side of things worth buying.

I wonder how many of these posts are trolls? I haven't had any issues whatsoever with 4.3.1. I also didn't have any problems with 4.3; battery life has been absolutely stellar and call performance actually improved in 4.3.1.
The timing of all these "bitching" posts just seems suspicious.
Huh? You find people "bitching" about the current software suspicious?
You been on this forum since how long? 2007? You ever happen to see a single software thread (no matter the version) not full of bitching? Because if you haven't please show me.
Almost all versions have had some issues with them so people bitching about it seems quite normal.

What if the rumored mapping or phone stuff that might be part of Leopard is only for .Mac users?
.Mac users can call people from their computers or get .Mac Earth or something similar.
Also, iCal needs to go online (add, edit, etc. from the Internet), storage needs to go way up, etc.
Give me something AOL and Google don't.
AOL just announced something that allows you to back up 5GB of data. .Mac gives you 1 GB. AOL is free, .Mac costs $99. I understand there are other features, but AOL has most of them too. It's not worth the $$ until some major improvements happen.
applerocks
Yeah, AOL has a better free IMAP mail solution than Apple and a free 5GB storage solution. I think it is freezing in hell right now... AOL has a better offering than Apple... and the AOL solution is FREE!
