"One more thing..." is (and should) only be used when Steve announces something very cool, and which would also be come kind of surprise.
Let's be honest.... the Mac Pro was not a surprise. Ok, the all-Quad config was, but the computer itself was not worth the "One more thing..." entrance, like the intro of the G5 in 2003 was.
Maybe a 42" Cinema Display, or Conroe iMac or Merom MacBook Pro could have been one...

So why is it Apple can say it's OK to leave this tracking "bug" on my iPhone 3G running iOS 4.2.1, and only fix the iPhone 3GS and 4?
It's not a "tracking" bug, it's a security hole and Apple can say it's OK because they are not obligated in any way to fix bugs on discontinued and unsupported devices.

So the reality is there is a slightly larger market share where developers don't make squat, and a slightly smaller market share where developers have already earned over 2 billion dollars
Then there's the BREW market... mostly apps on dumbphones... where developers have earned over 3 billion dollars. Lucrative for carriers, too.
---
Hey, is there a good analysis anywhere that shows how many iOS developers actually make a living from sales?
Two billion dollars spread out over 350K apps averages less than $6,000 an app. But it's more likely that most either earn nothing (free apps) or just a few hundred dollars, while a comparative few make the majority of income.
Thanks for any pointers!

Okey, interesting, I was always wondering about traffic data that was collected from people's phones. I think I'll hold off from buying the Navigon app for a little bit more.

Sorry, don't get it.
768 vertical pixels was not enough back in 12" PB days and is not enough now. I feel like I'm looking at my document through a little gunslit.
900 vertical pixels is a big improvement. And the 13" is still tiny and featherweight for a notebook.

I'm currently in college. I just made the switch, and instead of saving the $2700 I spent on my iMac for tuition, I decided I would be happier with a computer that works. :)

I'm on day 4 with my new ultimate 11" and I'm loving this thing. The 26:9 is weird at first but the size, like everyone is saying is great.
Wow how did you get such an ultra-uber widescreen? :D

Please share that NSX's picture with us. It's gorgeous. ;)
Unfortunately this is the highest resolution I have. :( Works good on the 13" screen though.

Lotsa people buy XServes and put UNIX or Linux on 'em. Or you could of course install Windows and it'd run like a bat outta Hell with a rocket up its butt.
People, yes. The money is made in corporate sales. If Apple won't work with them, people won't buy. Apple isn't doing much to widen the base of OSX server. Proprietary environments may be a plus for Mac users, but they're virtually a non-starter in traditional enterprise segments.

Good call... it is really humorous to read a lot of the comments, and the best part is the speculation gets more intense with every page. Haha... just funny.
I am really curious to see what Apple has up its sleeves though, (some of their ideas have tanked), but they don't have a huge reputation for disappointment...
Ironically, there is a rumor (one more!) that specifically debunks all the "sky is falling" speculation here.
Not that I give much credence to any of thi (with the ipad, i learnt that it is best to assume no one really knows what they are talking about when speculating about apple), but I put a little more value in the words of wsj journalists than ms rumors commenters.

I assume you are enjoying a New Glarus Spotted Cow while visiting Wisconsin. It is difficult to find outside their border because they don't distribute out of Wisconsin. I like Spotted Cow but New Glarus also offers some other quite tasty brews as well.

anyone else get an insanely loud noise just before the instal?
It's normal for the fans to run on full power during the firmware update. I assume that's the noise you heard, right?

Pretty awesome, I'd definitely get one if I didn't have a shuffle already.
Nice leak-proofing on this one, I didn't see a single shuffle rumor at any of the mac sites. Glad to see that they not only didn't dump it, but gave it a MAJOR facelift. I've always liked the shuffle, now it has a whole new life.
Now will I get gapless playback on my old shuffle?

I never thought of myself as an iMac type of guy. More of a MBP for work, Mac Pro for home.
But the 24" iMac is shaping up to be a great computer. 750 gig drive is sweet, 3 gigs of memory, huge display, and fast.
I always hated the wires and general visual mess of the normal desktop. Even in the age of bluetooth, there are too many wires.
I think the 24" iMac is shaping up to be a great prosumer computer. I'm seriously considering purchasing one now.
yeah, it's one of apple's better creations in years. As for the wires - if you go bluetooth on the mouse/KB, what do you have besides the power cord?

Tait strikes!
I still think we was a waste in the team and MacGill would have been better used. But he's done well.
Okay, one of the Aussie commentators here has just stated "Australia should win this match". Hmm... tough call.
Back to Channel 4 broadcast....... (for those who didn't know and cared, in Australia we get the Channel 4 broadcast but then Aussie players Dean Jones and Greg Matthews in a studio during the breaks)
