As it stands now I will pass on the 5 if it's a 4 shell with an A5 and a 8MP camera. If it's a redesign like this, I'd be all over it.

hmm.. I don't like the look of the calendar. I prefer the simple look as it is in Snow Leopard. I hope there is option to switch it to that look.

As a few others have said, the software is where it's at. Apple knows this. I dont think it really matters when they come out with another iPhone. They've got an amazing device with the iPhone 4 that can run pretty much anything normal people throw at it. If they can update the software to correct the few flaws it does have, it's going to be the perfect phone and the 5 will just further refine that. Everyone should really be focused on the conference in June.

spotlight shouldnt have been an issue-- it had been on for hours and theres no user accounts on it. raid wasnt on yet.
not stressing too much about it. it's nice to replace a bunch of random machines (especially imacs) with one big producer that actually has a big fan and is designed to get rid of heat fast. those imacs get so hot i get scared for the components. we've had several go out recently. the fan hole on the back is so small its almost comical. apple can't have a fan on the back thats bigger than the logo! it can't have a hard drive light or a cd eject! that would ruin the aesthetics! can't replace the harddrive without suction cups!! needless to say i hate imacs.

Apple has great products, but we are going to be experiencing more than a recession. Donald Trump stated that what was going to happen in North America is going to make Russia look like a picnic during world war 2. The CEO of Wall-Street stated two years ago that there will be a world economic crash worse than what happened during the 1930's due to the amount of debt. The European Union Banks stated 1.5 years ago that they were preparing their banks for a world economic collapse. Unfortunately most of us are living the status quo and do not want to acknowledge that our way of life is going to drastically change. Unfortunately even a company as great as Apple will not be able to retain the level of what the stocks are worth even at todays low. My advice is pay of your debts... sell your stocks while you still have money, sell your home and then when the collapse occurs then invest.

Strange that Apple would potentially lose lots of customers with no new iPhone this summer..
I was looking forward to another crazy all nighter at the mall a couple thousand other nuts, might not be able to do it in the fall.. What a bummer..

Maybe that's the way it strikes you, but this isn't the way it strikes those of us who've been using Pages since it came out.
But all of my work is poorly-researched, so maybe that's why I like it.

So it's not like I'm the only one who thinks that Pages needs more to better compare to Word. As it stands, I'll give Pages a shot if I need to do something fancier than writing for MFA workshops.
Plus, I save a couple of bucks.

Some have said a new version of iOS. But why would a phone have to wait for that? You would just upgrade later like we all did with iOS4. So there has to be some other reason. But what? New size of screen, like the edge to edge thing talked about? The rumor mill keeps saying that the design won't be much different then the iPhone 4, so if true, and there is no LTE. Then why the delay? It's not because of Japan, because these rumors were floating about before all that.
It's kind of madding because I am in the market for a new phone now and fall is an awfully long time to wait. If another year is added on top of that for LTE, well...wow. That could work out to a year and a half from now for an LTE iPhone, unless they release something in another unusual timeframe...like say Feb. or March. But I don't see that happening. That's a really LONG time to wait for something in the fast moving world of phones and electronics.
Two reasons.
1) The iPad 2 and the iPhone 5 will compete for some components (such as flash). Given apple's inability to produce in accordance with iPad 2 demand, it's possible producing iPhone 5's could further reduce that ability. If they value maximum iPad 2 capacity more than a summer launch, that's one explanation.
2) iPhone 4 sales with a Verizon model and a forthcoming white version have been/are/will be strong enough to warrant selling them for a few extra months.
Of course, there is the concern of falling behind competitors and not maximizing profits, but those are all concerns to be weighed.
